Alright I've been looking for a beater for a while but not found anything too cheap that didn't require more money to fix than I had. Well at the last sale had a 99 Mercury Cougar V6 5 speed. They look pretty nice IMO but they have a few bugs



Anyways this car went for the grand total of $825, according to their site . Even if it was a POS I could've sold it for a lot more than that.

I almost bought one of those (in black) when I was car shopping, but they sold it before I made it out to look at it.

Hmm, looking at the pic, the body/exterior looks decent. You probably could have sold it for a couple grand even if the engine was a pos.

Yeah that is what I was thinking. My mom used to have the sister car to this, the Mercuy Mystique. It was a decent car, came with the 2.5 V6. It had some bugs before we got rid of it, but had around 150K when it was sold. Don't think the car is running anymore because it was treated like shit.

That cougar technically didn't have a sister car. More of a cousin. It was related to the mystique and contour. Only thing they shared were the power plants. The rest was different.

99% of the time you get what you pay for so just be ready in case it back fires on you and you end up with a 500 dollar 825 dollar car
