Im needing some help building my engine up. I really have no idea what i need to do or order parts wise. The reason im asking is because i have a procharger running 12lb of boost on a stock 4.6 motor and everyone i have talked to is telling me I need to build the engine because there worried ill blow the bottom end out of it. i would greatly appreciate the help

the 4.6L from 98 gt's will hold about 400rwhp maybe 450 (its all in the tune) and about 10-12psi~ so you are at the limit. Basically if you dont have a custom (good quality) dyno tune (not just the chip that comes with the procharger) you are a ticking time bomb.

yea that was what i was thinking. The guy i got the car from said the last time it was tuned was a year and a half ago. I just ordered a 10lb pulley to lower the psi were it wouldn't put as much pressure on the engine cause i dont wont or have the money to replace the bottom end. they specialize in fords, they gave me a price of $900 to test and tune the whole nine yards but i thought it was kinda high but i need it done bad
if you are looking for another motor to handle boost, i would look into MMR. they are reknown in the mod motor world and they are currently having a sale on their shortblock assemblies.

if you look at the procharger web site they run alot cooler because its a belt driven with a two or three stage inner cooler if it the one you have spec'ed for your car then there should be no problem from what i've read if you changed the pully size on the procharger then i would worry
