Yeah, I remember reading another article where the '11 was posting great numbers but the engineers wouldn't what was under the hood which they teased as either the 5.0 or the V6 turbo ecoboost.

Hell yeah it will. Look at the current 2010, it's doing quite well up against the Camaro, and it's a 315hp 4.6L. A 5.0 pumping out around 400hp with minimal additional weight will just kill the camaro.

I also heard that the 2011 V6 will have a 3.7L V6 24V DOHC with high compression, but nothing about a eco-boost v6 mustang. Ill look for this article.

I've learned with Ford you can't necessarily believe what is reported to be coming out until it nears the time of it coming out. The gen 3 lightning, the 5.0 in 09 are some great examples.

No lie. We only have 300+ hp cars now that are rolling mid/low 13s stock & street tires. I would hate to see what another 75-100hp with a finer tuned supension setup and less weight would do to the competion! Rock on Ford!
BTW has anyone seen the new Taurus SHO commercial where he blows past the Audi?? Ford is finally growing some balls!

This is O/T a little...but yes! Those SHO ads are great. I was talking on the BOF about the engine noise---that I was hoping what you hear in the ad is close to what you hear in the cabin. (I'd read that the cabin was done so well to block sound that you don't get to enjoy the engine or exhaust note at all).
I just get riled up when I think of a Taurus SHO doing a 13.9 @ 101 and 5.4 0-60.  |

roll down the window and you can hear the exhaust lol  Also note that 13.9 time is done with 4400lbs (including driver) or more.

hmmm...definitely sounds like ford could be on the right track...the 2011 definitely seems to have potential...but like PureVenom above, I will take it with a grain of salt until the car actually hits showrooms...
And even so, it's not enough to keep me from going to the "dark side"...My next vehicle of purchase is going to be either a C5 or C6 Z06 depending on what I decide I want to do with it...
