I didn't break mine, but I did swap mine out to a 26 spline before it could break on me. Still have my 10 spline at the house.

Nice i ended up just replacing it with another 10 spline i found on ebay for 50 bucks cause i didnt want to replace the clutch

yup input shafts break on the 03/04s most upgrade when it happens

this was my mistake i was running a c5 zo6 and threw it in 2nd instead of 4th at about 105mph i heard a little chirp from the nittos and that was the end of it LOL

well I guess you didn't upgrade before or it could've been the motor and not the shaft.

Put a 26 spline in when upgrading everything else....and that's the reason lol.
It's not bad till you're snapping 26 splines like that...had a friend do it.

Not really. Once you have the trans out you take out a few bolts and the front cover comes right off. Then, swap shafts. The only hard part is finding the proper sized shim to get the free play in spec. I was lucky and grabbed the proper one first try.

BTW I had a bad downshift a few weeks ago! I bout shit my pants b/c I was just waiting on the splines to tear up! or as Louis said...Motor

I brought it to a transmission shop and i think i payed under $180 to have it replaced

I pulled my trans and dropped it and the new shaft off at a shop for an afternoon. He didn't have time to get to it so I ran by the next morning to pick it up. He said he had forgotten and pulled the cover, popped the old one out, set the new one in, shimmed it up right and I was out the door in 15 minutes.
The trick I kept forgetting was to stand the transmission on it's end when setting everything back together, I had the forks all screwed up doing it myself.
