I bought 91 GT and restored the exterior.. Im currently in Iraq and lookin for ideas for the motor. It has the 5.0, under drive pully, headers, throttle body, bbk cold air intake. Bought the car $1,500. Family owns body shop and exterior is stock 2 tone blue and silver with all new paint. 4 inch cowl hood, new sun roof, front bumper, and rims sand blasted and repainted. Please leave anything that will help. I'll be home in a few months to take the car home.. Northern Indiana

for a 5.0L you have TONS of options. It all depends on what you want the final result to be. Do you want a N/A motor, power adder? etc.
How much are you willing to invest in motor/trans?

with the family owning the body shop i made off at under $4,500 in body work, new parts, and paint so i have more to spend on motor. I would like more power. Dont know if i should go with the 306 or different motor... Or maybe keep my 302 and put super charger on.. Looking for anything to help with the decision.

Get one of Fords built up crate motors and carburate it. You can get some serious HP out of one of these mills.

Why carburate it? If money isn't an issue, you could do a nice 347 with a blower as well. Just don't skimp on the heads and cam. As long as you put together a combo that works well together you should end up happy no matter how many cubes you have. It's all just a matter of how much power you want to make and money you're willing to spend.

Hey Thanks for the info. You are right i have the money so i want to do it right the first time. I have thought of the blower, heads, and cam and that sounds like my plan.

Much easier to tune a carburated motor. I suggest some AFR 185 Heads. If you are going to use a blower then inject it. Remember to keep your compression ratio under 9 to 1. And yes do a 347.

Much easier to make better numbers with an EFI 351/302 setup. Might be a little more difficult but it pays out. Are you planning on going Naturally Aspirited or Forced Induction? As Spec said, the 5.0 is a huge platform and many different options as far as the combinations of parts go!

The 347 is a great way to go I have an 89 it does have a carb I think it is a better way to go, alot easier to tune exspecially if your going blown or nos. If built right charger isn't needed they put out alot of power unless you just want crazy horse out of it.

welcome
I'm not too experienced in 5.0's and rebuilds, but these guys definitely know their stuff.
Oh, and the fox looks good!
