Power Steering?

I have an issue with power steering on my 2000 V6.

It makes that oh-so-annoying high pitched sound like you're low on power steering fluid, but I know I'm not low because I am always reminded to check it to make sure I'm not.


It hardly takes any effort at all to turn so I don't think it's going out.

This has been going on for a long time but it has gone far past the point of simply ignoring it.

I had the tires rotated not long ago, that changed nothing.

My mechanic friend suggested I completely drain the fluid, flush it, and then refill it with clean, new fluid. I don't think this has ever been done to me car.

Any suggestions?

Okay I jus tried that, thanks, but it didn't work.

Get a new powersteering pump more than likely is failing on you.

That Power steering flush really does help. It all depends on how bad off the pump is to begin with but I've had noisy ford pumps quiet down very noticeably after doing a flush.
