Bad ball joints on a 2007

Is it possible to have bad ball joints on my 2007 GT that has 18k?
Failed dmv inspection due to bad joints. I don't drive hard. Steering is tight, even tire wear and no noise.
Scam???

I have heard issues with the control arms on 05+ having issues. I would get a second opinion though. Jack up the car and see if the tire wiggles sidways and top/bottom
