I was wondering if anyone has heard of mods that allow the top to be remotely lowered on a 2008 vert. It has manual release levers but seems like something could be done to replace them (might be to costly I guess).
I know this is asking a lot but I would like to be able to let the top down as I leave my office. Maybe it is just the lazy person in me. I test drove a Mini which had that and it seemed cool.
Heck since the switch works the windows, at least maybe the windows could be lowered.

A few years back when I was looking at installing a new sound system in the car the sound shop I was talking to told me about something called Eclipse Commander. It could be programmed to voice commands to control different things in your car like rolling down windows, putting top down, etc.
However, that does not get around the manual lever deal. You would have to come up with something for that and tie it into the top lowering circuit to make it all work together.

ive never seen anything that gets around the levers that you have to move~ I am SURE it could be done but it would be custom and expensive.

I know you can buy window modules that will roll up/down power windows. I used to have mine wired to roll up when I armed my car alarm. The only hard part would be figuring out how to hook it up to a factory keyless entry if that is what you are working with.

To get the motor to work remotely wouldn't be too hard, but to get the manual clamps is another story. You would either have to (a) leave them unlocked, as in when you get to work you unlock the top and leave it until right before you leave when you open the top or (b) rig something up that will also remotely unlock the clamps then drop the top. It is most likely very possible but will have to be made from scratch.

most high end alarms have extra functions that can be used to activate the top switch. you could the same style actuators that are used to pop open the doors on a car with shaved door handles to open the latches at the top of the windshield.
