I didn't know where to post this so I will ask you guys here. I want to get some White Faced gauges, but I don't want them to only go to 120. I want a set of 150 mph GT ones. Is there anyway to recalibrate so the needle is saying the right speed?

You have to have a new gear in your tranny from the gt. 97Stallion has done this and will know what gear you need.

I am going to get the SCT XCal 2 when I need to reburn my car after my head swap. Will that fix it. I know I have heard of the speedo gear but I thought that was for gear changes only?

Its a seperate gear from what you are thinking.
You still need this gear. Tuning alone will not correct it.

going above 120 is pretty damn stupid, the car wont even do it regardless. The 150mph speedos look crappy to me compared to the 120.

Some people like it. Me being one of them. If he wants it let him have it and help him find out what needs to be done to make it work correctly.

yea if you cant just install a new speedo gear then you will have to remove the tail shaft on the tranny to gain access to the shaft gear and replace it.

Hmm is it hard to do? I have had a driveshaft off before but never the tailshaft of tranny. Tranny's are one of those things that scare me in my car.

I would not recommend attempting to change the drive gear unless you have experience working with transmissions. You have to pull the entire transmission to do so (well, don't have to but it's much easier than working underneath a car). I've had a drive gear and speedo gear I need to put in my car for about 6 months now just because I'm too lazy to do all the work. Pulling transmissions is no fun without a lift.

You do not have to take off thetranny at all. just the extension housing or tail shaft housing as it is also called, most likely its 4 bolts that hold the housing in place.

Well does anyone have a link or approximate price for the speedo gear? Can I just take one from a wrecked GT? Ford have it if I can't find one?
