Wheel Spacers?

I really hate the way my rear wheels look because of the way they are tucked in under the fender.

I've seen pics of wheel spacers on mustangs and they look sweet.

AmericanMuscle sells some Spacers, but which size do you think would be better?

1in, or 1.5in?

Also, Would this cause more unwanted tire rub?

You shouldn't have to worry about rubbing on the back wheels. I wouldn't put any on the front, though you might eliminate rubbing at full lock if you have a 9" rim, the extra amount the tire/wheel sticks out will cause damage to the fenders when driving/turning, so it's really not worth it IMO.

I think a lot of people put 1" to 1.5" spacers on the rear, and they sit flush with the fender well, any more and it will tear up your paint. Mud flaps don't really help either, plus IMO they hinder the car's appearance.

Just make sure the spacers are 5x4.5" bolt pattern.

Yeah I don't want the tires stickin out (they just looks dumb)
and the fronts are good the way they are.

So, for the rear, would 1" or 1.5" spacers be better?

And I'm pretty sure the ones I am inerested in are.

It says they fit 94 and up Stangs with 5 lug pattern

Yah those are pretty good. I think the 1.5" adds roughly 3 inches, so I'd measure the gap between your current wheel and see what it is.

I saw pictures of a GT with the stock bullitts on (17x8) and the wheels were flush with the fender well after the 1.5" spacer, so keep that in mind. If you rear wheels are wider than 8", you may want to look into a shorter spacer.

I would run the 1" spacer as that would be plenty, cheaper, and give it a great appearance with 9" or wider wheels.

I can tell you where to move the wheel for a fender flush look or as far as you can go without having to roll the rear fenders. If you are not lowered you wont have to roll the fenders either way probably~ but if you are then you will have to if you go to far.

But... I need to know your rims width and backspacing (or offset) if you dont have that I cant really help.

You want 3.5 inches of the rim from the rotor out for as far as you can go with out worry of rolling fenders. With 4.0 you will need to roll them if lowered.

They aren't that big.
16x7 with 5x4.5 bolt pattern. They are all the same size (not offset)
So they are all 7" wide.

I bought them before I had any idea about wheels and stuff.
If I were to wait until now, I would've probably went with an offset size, but oh well.

Does that tell you anything?

I need to know the backspacing, but you can also figure this out easily enough.

Basically take a back wheel off, lay it face down. Measure from the back mount of the wheel to the edge of the wheel (straight up in the air) the distance from the back edge of the wheel to the wheel mount is the back spacing. The rim width minus the back spacing is the front spacing of the rim. The front spacing + back spacing gets you back to the full rim width.

The front spacing needs to be 3.5 - 4.0 inches (mine are 4.0 inches if you want to look at pics via my signature (high res pics).
