so i go get the "midas touch" package today along with an oil change at midas, obviously, and the guy tells me that my right front strut is leaking oil. they tell me that it is about $400 to fix. i get a little angry at this and go to my dealer who is about 1/4 mile away. i go in and tell him whats up and he asks me how many miles i have on my car. i tell him 38,5xx but i have an ext warranty. turns out that i have the middle line extended warranty that doesnt cover this problem. the "top of the line" extended warranty does, my luck.
but the dealer told me since it was only at about 38k miles, he would fix it anyway under factory warranty (36k miles) so insted of paying $400, i will only pay the $50 deductable.

not here.... although they did waive the $60 diagnosis fee on my rear end. He laughed when I said I was gonna swap rears, told me to have fun, and that he would take care of the bill.

Then again...they never actually fixed anything on my car. I had the same thing "fixed" about 10 times before I gave up.

its always nice once in a while to get freebies.
last week, i had lost my wheel lug key, so i couldnt get my rims off. i take it to a local "america tire co" and the guy says itll be 8 bucks a rim to remove, and itll take like 40 minutes. so i say cool do whatever it takes save for killing the rims. so i sit down, and hear my car start and pull into the garage. pick up a car and driver and start reading. then not 5 minutes into reading i hear my car start again, this time the guy gave it a nice rev and let the bov go off, echoing throughout the shop. all the mechanics could be hearing going "ooooooooh". then i see the guy park the car. he walks in, throws me the key and goes "dont worry about it man, keep her clean" and walked into the shop again.

our dealers suck. They charge way too much for everything, but they do do good body work and paint.

My dealer sucks ass, they can never order the parts I want or they'll tell me they're in stock and when I go to pick them up the next day with other parts I order they realise they actually aren't in stock.
And I'd never pay someone to do some simple repair that I could do myself for free.
