Ive been thinking of getting an old Ford and restoring it, hot rodin it, resto modin it, or what not. But I dont know what you use? I dont want to get a Mustang because they are to much for a classic fastback fixer upper. I was thinking 1969-1971 Torino or a 1963-1965 Falcon. Anyone have any other ideas? Im just in the looking stage with a few ideas on engine and trans but not much. Just thought that you guys might have some cool ideas.

I had a 63 Galaxie 500 as my first car. 289 3 speed. it was just a 4 door but had fun working on it and wish I still had it.

Glaxie, Falcon, Cougar, Fairlane. My buddy's dad just finished a Falcon and it is gorgeous. He did the whole Pro Street treatment and he drives the car. I'll see if I can get some pics to post up here.

Maverick. Not something you'll see every day, but can look really good when done right.

Ever seen the movie "Cobra" with stallone? Its a mid 50's mercury( i think 55) small block, 3 speed, Lowered a bit with a chopped top! One of those!!
Or torino, cougar, galaxie, maverick, ranchero would be the order of what i would choose.

I think the early 50's Ford trucks look better with the fat fender style. Late 40's to early 50's cars have some of the best styling cars for making a 'rod IMO. My parents' neighbor has an early 50's caddy just rotting in his driveway. If I had some cash I would be over there in a heartbeat trying to save it.

'49 merc (coupes look cool, but I thought this wagon was pimp too):
Bonus points if you keep the flatty! Check out jalopyjournal.com for some sweet rods. They are an abrasive bunch if you act like a jackass though
Yup, my next ride when I graduate will be rod.

My grandfather has a car exactly like that only it's red. Even has the factory flathead in it.

I was thinking about a 1999-2009 Crown Vic in Shadow Grey with smoked lights, with a nice rake, a 4V cobra motor W/5 or 6 speed manual. Gut the whole thing make a custom interior and I nice set of fat tires in the back. What yall think it would be the perfect sleeper.
