Ok, i have problems with my subs and amp, and there are so many possible causes, i have no idea where to start. so i will start with the problem:
My amp will turn off after a while, its a different amount of time each instance. Alot of times, when i turn up my volume loud, or fade the stereo towards the back, it will shut off then. Today, i adjusted the ground wire, and the line output converter and now the amp will turn off after a few seconds.
At first i thought it was the ground wire. I have a ring terminal attached to a bolt on the body, and i made sure to sand all the paint off. It isnt tightened all the way, but it still makes contact, could that cause a problem?? Also, where the ground wire goes into the amp, there is a lot of access wire sticking out, but there is still enough to make contact with the connection in the amp, but i didnt know if that could be the problem.
also, i think it could be line output converter. Its pretty ghetto, like the back of it is totall broken off, i taped it back on, haha. is there any way to test if this is the problem, besides buying a new one.
i figured the amp is shutting off to protect itself, ive heard amps sometimes shut themselves off when there are problems, so i assume this is what is going on, but i suppose my amp could be bad.
finally, whenever my amp is on, my subs do not hit hard at all. I had the same setup in my integra, and it hit 20 times harder. I figured since i am using a line out converter, and its tapped into my rear speakers, that could be the reason why it is so weak. That, and the fact that i think on my subs is blown, but its hard to tell because they hit so weak.
Please help me out here. thanks
