Hey, what would be the difference between say..steeda, B&M, and MGW short throw shifters and a shifter like this one one on ebay?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...&category=33736
WOuld they do the same thing? would you trust a generic one?
Just wondering, since I'm looking.
WHat brand name shifter is the best?
WOuld you trust a generic e-bay one and would they do the same thing?

that link doesn't work for me (because of the "..." in the middle) but...different companies' shifters are all just slightly different in their own ways. I have a steeda tri-ax and love it, but i've never used anything else. I know steeda's handle is bent slightly towards the driver and i think a pro isn't bent at all. Steeda also has two different settings for the height of the handle, one is higher up for a little more comfort, the other is shorter for a quicker shift but less comfort. I would definately not get an ebay one (unless it is by those companies and just being sold on ebay). Most go with a tri-ax...but its mostly personal preference.

I've had a pro 5.0 and a B&M shifter on my 89 (t5) I liked the B&M better
I have a tri-axx on my '02 and love it
perfect placement for me

Definitely stay away from the cheap E-bay stuff. I have a Pro 5.0 and love it. I have also driven a couple cars with Tri-Ax's and they are very nice. I haven't actually used the MGW, but have heard good things. Plus the fact that it's made by MGW means its gotta be high quality.

the steeda is easier for daily driving due to the better handle position, the 5.0 is a stubby handle, but its not to much of a PITA for daily driving.
