I have a 2000 V6 with 208,600 miles on it. Only major thing I've had to do to it since we bought it (it was around 150,000 miles when I bought it) was change out the transmission. That was about 20,000 miles ago or so.
Besides that, car is still running great with only small things. Nothin big.
Overall, Mustangs are very reliable cars.

I too have a 2000 v6, and with 129,xxx miles it's still running strong. If you take care of it, it'l always take care of you.

Exactly...as long as you keep up maintanence ie: oil, belts, plugs, an occasional bath and treat it well, it'll run solid. Even if you buy it and it has a few minor problems, get them straightened out, and you'll be fine. There are plenty of people on here who have v6 mustangs with over 100k miles and have only done routine maintenance.

i have an 04 when i bought my car used it had 66k on it and all i had to do was replace the spark plugs and wires and ran great. now at 80 and runs like a dream. but as a side note i also replaced the belt tensioner and harmonic balancer and hb pulley and the idler pulley. those made the car run like it was new. so if u are handy and know a little about cars you can do a few things to make it run great even with 114k on it

As with any vehicle its all about how they are taken care of. I have had two v6's over the span of 6 years or more~ neither had any issues really~ but I took good care of them.
The 3.8L in the 99-04 v6 is generally good for 150-250k miles~ the transmission is about the same in manual and I would say 150k miles in auto (maybe 200k).
