Air Bag beeping!!!

hey guys,
This is my first post here so hello to all you mustang gear heads! Okay, so have a 93 5.0 GT. I am having a problem with the air bag. I took out the old steering wheel with the air bag and put in a GRANT steering wheel. Ever since I did that the car beeps continuosly!!! I know its the air bag because the driver side visor says that a series of 5 continous beeps with occur if the air bag needs maintance. The car thinks it still has an air bag but it doesnt!! Anybody know how I can stop this? Thanks alot!!

Uh, find the piezo beeper and disconnect it...

But really, this is happening because you removed the old Airbag. I may be pulling this out of my ass, but most cars have sensors that tell you if the airbag is messed up, and alerting you if that is the case. You're car is telling you "YOUR AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IF YOU GET CRUSHED BY A SEMI".

Want it to stop? Put the old wheel on, or one with an airbag.

Wheel on? Ok....

Look in your owners manual at your fuse layout... see if you can see anything about the airbag there... and then remove the fuse. I'm not sure if this will work but I believe its worth a shot. Doesn't matter to have the fuse removed anyway if you have no air bag.

I just tried that with the #12 fuse taken out with no success (sucks).

Wow... Well.. that was a random shot in the dark on my part. I don't know man, take it to O'reilys and have them take a look?
