I have been looking at these cars and thinking I might trade for one in the future.

In my opinion, it is like buying an H2...just a status mobile. I also agree it is fugly...but..tastes vary. Plus, it's a chrystler. ewww. I wouldn't trade your car for it...but again, tastes vary.

330 hp in that little sportscar would be nice, but they also run about 10K more on the price tag, lol. I am sure it would get you on insurance too. The standard 215 hp or whatever it is is enough for me with it. Test drove one the other day, does nice. I think they look different, but not fugly in my opinion. I would like to have a vert, or roadster, but they run a bit high too, I have not made up my mind yet, I might just go with an 06 GT or something. Don't know yet.

What I like about the Crossfire is the mechanical parts are mostly Mercedes.

Slow?? I drove one, it is anything but slow. Pretty quick for a 3.2L V6 I think.

i heard the srt-6 is pretty fast, but not worth $50k, and i think you can only get the srt in an auto. the normal runs what, mid 15's and costs $30k? not worth it in my book, i'll take a used 03/04 cobra with 500-600hp for $25k-30k.

Road and Track did a comparo with the Crossfire SRT6 and three other roadsters. I think it was a Mercedes, Vette and Porche.
They rated the Crossfire last mostly because they said the ride was like a skatebaord on the highway. That's an objective rating though so YMMV. For the hard data performance it was competitive. Now the SRT6 is the blown version, so I dunno what they did other than the engine to make this an SRT6.
As for no aftermarket, well ever hear of AMG?
Mercedes aftermarket is damned expensive though. I like the art deco look myself and if I had the bux to afford a roadster that would be the one for me.

why did they rate the crossfire worse than the benz, aren't they the same car (assuming its the e320 or whichever car is the same as the crossfire)?

the crossfire is based off the last generation Benz running gear. The current Benz roadster is what was tested in the shootout. The article is at work, I am not. So I cannot be more precise.

I've sat in one...
they're tiny and they have a cheap looking interior, cheaper than my mustang was IMO

I would say they are definitely NOT built to be drag raced, they are a road car, plain and simple, built to be enjoyed on the roads and highways. I am sure the SRT-6 would get you a decent 1/4 mile time, but like I said, its a Sports Car, a road car, and built to be enjoyed while driving it.
