Need stereo help

I know absolutely squat on stereos. anyway my Speakers in my doors are blown, and i have a bad ground somewhere, so I just want to rip out all the mach 460 crap and redo everything, i know its some work, but anyways, what kind of speakers/amps/headunit, etc you guys reccomend.Im not looking for anything major, just a good clean sounding system. and more than likely a 10" sub..
Id like to keep it under $7-800 ( i can wait on a sub)

Brent just bought some good sounding door speakers from planet audio, around 70 a pair if I remember right. Good headunit will run you around 300. New wiring, 10 dollars if you do it yourself. Then, sub....hm....nice midrange, good sounding sub....eclipse dvc 10 is around ..i have no idea, probably around 150. Pioneer dvc 10 is around 150 for the good ones. MTX 5500 10 would be pretty good, around 100. An amp to push that would be around 600-800 watts max, 300-400 rms. Those will run you anywhere from 150-300.

you wouldn't possibly know the mounting depth on the front speakers would ya??

Not off hand...I do know my 2 way REV series pioneer 6x8's fit with plenty of room to spare. You probably have about 3 inches behind the mounting point, and around an inch to play with over the speaker. Brent may know more, he replaced his door speakers 3 weekends ago, I wasn't paying any attention.
