Alrite i know a guy named kevin that opened his own shop in columbus. He is a SCT guy and says that the SCT chip is the best. Im not so sure about it so let me ask yall. I want too add a chip im looking at the SCT chip or a jet chip, which one is the best and would give me the best bang for the buck?

I would talk to justin (he is on the site) he does SCT tunes, also americanmotorsports.com
until you have many mods a chip will do next to nothing for performance, consider it a good bolt on... if its dont correct and not just an off the shelf generic.

I would do everything at once, and get one tune for it.... unless your gonna run nitrous and then you will need atleast 2 tunes....

they make hand held programmers that you can send off and have redone to mess with things... and your car wont be with out a program for XX days.
I would sit down and figure out where I wanted to end up, realistically... and then determine whats needed to get you there and in what order. Ask us in order to determine what all is needed to get there of course. Just figure out what the end result will be. A bolt on car or a full out bulit motor etc etc... just be realistic about it.

I would just buy all the bolt ons at once and then get it tunned, run that for a while and see how happy you are.
dual exhaust, cold air intake, under drive pulley, aluminum driveshaft, shift kit if auto or shifter if manual, rear end gears, rear tlok unit, or just an 8.8 rear with your choice of gears ) then finish off with a tune.
All of that is not a bad start... in the performance area. Get a tune after all of that from a GOOD source and you should be good to go for a bit.

Ok you said get a new shifter i have driven both the steeda tri-ax and the pro 5.0 in my friends moms mustang V6 but i like them both, i kinda like the tri-ax because it is spring louded but i like the pro 5.0 cause i can make quick shifts. What kinda shifter do you guys recomend if i want too run a turbocharger?

a turbo pretty much requires extensive engine work. it's not a simple bolt on

Send me an email, I can send you some info and prices. Justin@VMPtuning.com
The best way to go is the SCT Xcal2 flasher, it gives you the most flexibility for upgrading and tuning later on. An SCT chip is a less expensive option though.
On Premium fuel a stock car will see a gain of about 7-12rwhp, 7-12rwtq, this is all across the RPM range, not just peak gains. You won't find many mods that add power everywhere. Throttle reponse will be greatly improved, which really helps the 5spd cars at the track. If you have an auto it can be made to shift much better. Most bolt ons, such as CAI, UD pulley, duals, spacers, don't require a different tune. You can easily drop .3 at the track with an SCT tune.
Also, just having a tune does not change the way HP from mods adds up, duals and a CAI may be 5rwhp+5rwhp, and an SCT tune adds another 12rwhp, but together or apart they all add up the same.
People used to say do all your mods first and then get a tune, this really isn't true unless you are talking major mods like heads/cam or a blower.

You don't need both, just one. The chip plugs into the port on the computer, and now the computer reads the tune off the chip. The xcal just flashes a new tune into the computer.
