odd whistle in 3rd from engine @ WOT

it doesnt sound to be comin from the tranny but when i'm flooring it and go into 3rd it sounds whistly all throughout 3rd gear, like a blower is strapped on for that gear. and at the moment i don't have a CAI so i don't know what it could be. any input?

Vaccum Leak would be the FIRST think I look for.

yea, mine is taped on also until i get the peices painted. Do you have a short throw shifter? I rolled the inside down a bit, to pull the boot down, then put it on and it helped out a lot.
