can anyone explain a burnout?

ok in slow people's terms how is it done? all my website searches on google bring up that damned video game and automatic burnouts/brakestands

yes i realize for now i can only do a 1-wheel but by jax trip i'll have the 2-wheel.

Friend of mine had a 5 speed 92 4 banger.

He used to rev up and pop the clutch then catch the car with the brake like 3 feet later and just stand on it for like 30 seconds.

All this going on next to the highway at the gas station I worked at.

Why I got fired you ask??

yeah... launch the car hard enough to spin then hold on the brakes.. works best with wet tires...

i just rev mine and pop the clutch at around 3500 and just let loose gobs of smoke. i can just sit there for a few seconds before the drivers side starts to catch and pull me along, but if i want i can hit the ebrake(since im fwd) and sit in one spot and roast them. but i havent done that in a while(got good tires now that cost).

my buddy had a 89 5.0. he would heel toe it. have his right foot heel on the brake and his toes on the gas, and his left foot just the clutch. hed hold the brake and gas down just a little bit, then ease out on the clutch, then hit the gas, pop the clutch and put the left foot on the brake and the right on the gas and let slip the dogs of war.

on a automatic you can just hold the brake with the left and hit the gas with the right, then let off on the brake just till the car barely wants to move, then go full throttle and use the brake to control if you want to move forward a bit or just sit there and roast them.

put it in 2nd gear and rev it, drop the clutch and immediately put that foot on the brake.

a burnout is simply pealing rubber as you launch

a brakestand is when you hit the brake after letting off the clutch and gas it

if its not against the floor my trans will pull me along. tbird can vouch for me on that,can start off in 1st and idle around and up steep hills thanks to the beefy trans but behind a stock motor

first, you go find a dealer, then buy a baggie form him, then you get some rolling paper, from a store, or even from a "donor" ciggarette...

it seems like everyone wants to hold down the brake hard. Just to clarify, I usually don't have to push the brakes down very far at all. Maybe it works both ways.

I have to or the trans pulls the car...Ive sat in my uncles driveway (steeper then 45*) in 1st and let off the brake and the car wont roll backwards, wants to try to push the car up the hill

lol in my opinion that powerbraking where you drop the clutch and just sit there and burn rubber is pretty cool but can ruin a clutch really really quick, trust me i blew my clutch all to hell and back doing it but that didnt change my mind about doing it again, since then ive only done this once but in my mustang normally all i will do just rev the car as high as i can go and just drop the clutch then gradually keep tapping the brake and walla a good burnout and a cheap one at that no new tires like ever couple months, lol. Oh yeah and a good question in my mustang i knowi dont have a red line chip but when it gets to like 5200rpm the car will just sit there and just ( room room room room room ) it sounds cool but why in the hell does it do this, cause i know my buddies 2004 mustang doesnt do this and it was manufactured the same month mine was and he has the 3.9 aswell??????

if you have an auto you hold the brake and push the gas, the rear brakes are not as strong as the front so they will spin and the front will hold. You can also just floor it and do one if you have enough power. For a manual car... its not nearly as easy.

you have to hold the brake and clutch, get on the gas fast and come off the clutch also, hold the brake and gas and do the deed... then get back on the clutch when you let off fast.

I drive around the waterbox, pull into the staging lanes, put the brake to the floor, mash the gas just enough to make them chip a little bit, stage, then cut a 2.0 60'. Every time. I need some ET Streets.
