only time you need 91 is when you get a chip or major engine mods that require it, otherwise, you are wasting your money.

Our engines are made to run on regular. Running too high of an octane could potentially be bad for your engine if it is stock. Keep it regular.

ya my friend runs 93 in her 4-cyl camry and its definately hurting the engine.
i want the flash tuner because i can program in variables for different programs like gas type.
i believe the SCTflasher has 4 program settings, so i'd have one for diff gas and tire sizes.

I don't really think that one brand is much better than another, but that's all imho. I haven't seen anything that says otherwise, so
I use Wal-Mart's gas, whatever that is.

They currently sell gas by using a 3rd party company...Murphy I believe. However, they are looking at selling it first hand and cutting Murphy out but are just experimenting at the moment with like 12 stores in the mid US at the right now. And yes, they will sell anything...except the good versions of CDs.
As for type of gas, I was instructed to avoid RaceTrac as they just buy whatever is cheapest, so you never know what quality you are getting. It was suggested I use Shell, Exxon if I need to, Amaco, and Mobil. This came from my Tuner...who was very...VERY...adament about avoiding RaceTrac. lol. Sucks too, because they are usually about 15 or so cents less than everyone else. Not gonna risk it though...
AS for using higher octane. Don't do it unless you are using a tuner and changing things. Otherwise, performance will lack as you don't have the right timing for the higher octane...your engine could be damaged over time...and you are throwing away money for lower performance. Use what the car is rated for...until you change the tune.

That's it. Murphy. I usually buy whatever is cheapest too. and I was told to avoid RaceTrac as well. I usually only buy here in town at Murphy, so it's not like I go out of my way to avoid or choose a certain place.

Exxon or Chevron unless my wallet is very skinny (which is usually the case) I go to Cowboys.
