I am considering getting sequential taillights for my 2000 mustang. Does anybody know if they look good on my model car? I saw some on American Muscle for $100, is that a good price?

I think they look pretty sweet on the "new edge" mustangs. They definitely add a level of uniqueness to your stang. They must be popular since the 2010's have sequentials stock...so, I say go for it!
American Muscle is the cheapest place I've seen so far, plus you get free shipping and a 6% member discount.

I think they work great on the 05+ due to the large taillight setup. I would think the new edge would be the same. Have not seen any on SN95's.

I have them installed on my cobra. Look great.
And no, that $100 price tag is not a good one for a splice in kit. You can save yourself $35 by going here: Page Title
When you get there, get the kit called "The Original "Slow Rate" Taillight sequencers". It is the second one listed on that page. It goes for $64.95. It's a breeze to install.

Ah, I stand corrected, that's good to know, thank you. I'm considering sequential lights, I would've been ticked if I paid more than I had to for it.

This kit is pretty obscure to find which is why no one knows about it. I got it from Brad (Lowflyn) who has installed on both his cars. It's actually a member on here Teddy44...but, I would have never known that had it not been for brad and meteorachick.

The 2010s as well as the '69 Cobra or first generation rather had this feature. Many owners agree Ford should have never gotten rid of it, even though Ford has stuck with the trilateral tail lights for much of the make's production.
I highly suggest going to Meter4it Sequentail / Chase turn signals for Ford Mustang
I have them on my car, and the product is top quality, their customer service is top notch (I think it's the same dude that makes them answers all his emails) and he has numerous projects were he has developed the sequential kit for other cars.
It's slightly more money, especially if you pick up the kit with the modified flasher but it is well worth it and it has added features:
* One button flash calibration
And with the switching of a single jumper you can change the light flash setting amoung three (that's right THREE (3) settings!
* There is the sequential, which you have seen
* Chase mode where after they each light up in sequence they turn off in sequence as well
* You can always go back to stock easily with the jumper, don't have to uninstall it.
There are full colored instructions shipped with the kit as well as on his website and the install is quick and easy. He includes everything you need, including the scotch locks for quick splicing (although I personally recommend a better splicing method than these if you can).
I have videos on my old '98 of the chase sequence and I could shoot a quick video on my new edge, which I also have it set to chase.

I put the splice in sequential tail light kit from American Muscle on our 2000 GT and it works great - in the daytime err when the lights are off. When the lights are on the blinking is too rapid. What is wrong?
I thought I followed American Muscle's instructions successfully. The instructions seemed to explain what to do in an orderly manner. I called American Muscle's tech support. They suggested checking the connections. If there was a connection issue then the lights shouldn't sequence at all in my mind.
What should I check?
All the bulbs light, there doesn't appear to be any burned out.
Suggestions?
thx,
Dave

It's possible that a single connection to a bulb is loose so perhaps a light is skipping and the car just "thinks" the bulb is out.
It could also be that one of the filaments for the regular tail lights (driving light) is out or about to go out. Try switching bulbs from the left tail light and right tail light (this is assuming that only one tail light is the problem) (make sure you don't get the bulbs dirty with any oils from your skin/basic cautionary bulb advice). If the problem switches tail lights with the bulbs then it's most likely a bulb issue. If the problem persists on the same tail light then it's most likely a connection issue.
If the problem is both tail lights then you have to ask yourself "what connects, what things are in common with both tail lights" and trouble shoot from there.
