i just recently got a new cam and new heads from RPM an i want to put on 1.8 roller rockers and i was wondering if my springs will hold up. my cam lift is .535/.531 for a 1.73 rocker arm and i have .540 lift springs. i the lift with the 1.8 rocker arms is over .540 for both intake and exhaust. i was wondering if i would have to get new valve springs if i get longer rocker arms or will the .540 springs hold up?
Ditch the idea of 1.8 rockers. If you have a bigger cam you dont need 1.8. 1.8's were designed for stock to nearly stock cams for a little extra life. In almost 70% of the engine failures I have seen valve train is the root of most of the problems, either somebody skimped and used old stuff when building a performance engine or the had to much pressure or over extended the limits of the valve train.
Roller rockers free up HP thru friction reduction but it amounts to only minimal gain. How are they for looks they are under the valve covers???? HAHAHHAHA
The fact is you will build HP with a RPM cam you dont need 1.8 RR's
They are sturdier and wont flex as much as the stockers, plus they have a "roller" on them reducing friction. That is where the horspower gains will come from. I think I have seen them advertised as like a 10-20 hp bolt on.

HAHHAHAHA That is a way out bogus claim I will shoot down right here and now. On a V6 you will get maybe a couple of HP out of RR's. Now a Big Block 1000+ hp Drag engine you might get 20 HP
