so my buddy was driving his 5.0 and saw a 96-98 white cobra at some dealership
so we go there just about 30 minutes ago, and man this thing is clean as hell. zero ding or dents in a perfect white, tinted windows, it had the chrome rounded twin 3 thing wheels, i think a little drop, duals out back.
cobra badging led my buddy to believe it was a cobra. then i look inside. tan interior, ugly, but its a cobra, so it can be dealt with. then i see it, a pillar pod with BOOST on it.
holy shit, a boosted cobra. im on this thing like white on rice.
the place was closed, but there was a guy talking on the phone in front. so my buddy goes over there and asks how much they want for it. the guy comes over and says "7000 bucks, 900 down" and me and my buddy are shitting bricks. 7000 for a 96-98 supercharged cobra.
which is around the same time i looked at the shifter and noticed PRND21. wtf, i didnt think cobras came with automatics. i think it said 116k on the clock.
so we walked away. what sounded too good to be true was. had it been a manual i wouldve been on it so fast. but ill never go auto(unless a truck or something).

They almost put auto's in the cobra in 01 I think either that or the talk was for the 03, but i'm glad they didn't a cobra should only be a manual.

Yep, deafnitely a Fobra. Next time you look inside the car and youre confused... just look at the air bag cover on the steering wheel. It will say COBRA instead of having the running pony. Anyone that makes a cobra clone will almost never replace the air bag cover.

I believe the 07 is being offered with an auto...if I remember correctly. People are going nuts in a good way because of it too. They are either being offered, or it was talked about to offer them with the auto. don't remember which.

I'm getting a lot of disappointments.. and I'm kinda stuck looking for a car.. seeing as my '02 was nailed I haven't found one GT yet that even comes close to the quality my car was in.. (locally anyway) and finding a cobra or mach 1 is even harder... sucks

I know of a lot of cobras for sale. not so much locally to you, but a number of them are around here in the LA/TX/FL area. It all depends on how much you want to spend. I will poke around and see what kind of prices are out there on the ones for sale...although I did find a TT 04 Cobra for sale yesterday for 40k. 800 rwhp and hasn't been tuned yet.

Some quick poking around here http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...play.php?f=192 and came up with this list. Check out that site, a lot of people are dumping their cars in prep for the 07. You may be able to get a car low enough to be able to finance in the shipping charges as well (~1000 or less).
99 Cobra Coupe, Green, 15k obo. 54k miles. New Hampshire http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...d.php?t=188330

1999 Cobra Coupe, Black, 17k obo http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...d.php?t=198790
