my parents friend wants to sell them a 1969 Mustang original everything, rebuilt motor original rims. for $500 if they buy it we already have a guy to help the restore. question is what would the fully restored mustang be worth if everything is original?? should they buy it?

If it's restored, it's not original.
but it would probably range between $5500 and $15000 depending on the quality of work

well, the problem is, restored means "not original", with classic cars, the money is with the cars that are in showroom shape, and un-restored
go onto google, and search "classic car value" or something like that, i think theres a few sites similar to kbb.com but for classic cars and their value per condition

damn you Ken, i lost my connection as i went to reply, and you beat me to it
also, think about this, are they planning on buying it just because they want an old car, or because there is some personal value to it? i have a history with certain cars, so i would buy then and restore them for reasons more than just money, is that what they want to do?

its alot of work, a ton of work actually.. and costs more than you could imagine... you dont make much money by restoring unless you do the work yourself. I would keep it if i restored it or not mess with it.

I think 15k is a lil high still, its just a run of the mill 69 mustang and most likely a coupe...I dont see alot of value comming out of it after its restored. But for 500 its a hell of a deal if everything is still in decent shape with only some rust. Now if it was a boss or mach, etc Ive seen them selling between 30-45k. If they are in it to make a profit its a bad move, but just to have a summer cruiser, etc then go for it.
