just spoke to a guy at a local muffler shop and he told me that i can actually LOSE hp if i go with a magnaflow catback system because there's not gonna be enough backpressure. what do you guys think?

Yah I agree with the above post. If you use 2.5" piping (which most aftermarket catback/converter back systems are) you may lose some torque...maybe a ft. lb. or so, but that's it. I don't think using two less restrictive mufflers will cause a decrease in hp.
