i have a 1997 mustang v6 5spd 115k original miles. want to install a mac off road h-pipe with a custom side exhuast but my question was does the off road hpipe bolt on like the stock one and will my sensor reach the pipe holes(v6 stangs have 4 sensors right) or do i have to buy extensions.
Any suggestions on which mil eliminators i shoud use. because i heard the wire mil eliminator was better than the on that plugs right in.

No there are only 2 sensors. Do you have inspections in Texas??? If you do you will never pass inspection.

What ever brand you buy make sure they are the plug in type and not the type you have to splice in and no you wont need extensions

Did they buy the wrong ones???? I know people who use both and have not heard that. Plug in types are so much easier to install. I know some people who still get the engine light even with the MIL eliminators. Actually the best way is to get a chip to turn it off. If you are going to install gears in the future you will need a chip anyway to remove the speed limiter and raise your RPM limiter. By the way what engine mods do you have that require a O/R H pipe. Typically without P&P heads, intakes and cam a stock V6 sounds rather crappy with O/R H pipes. Dont believe the advertised HP claims of what a H pipe and dual exhaust will give you. A stock V6 exhaust is not very restrictive and will only gain you maybe 5 or 6 HP but if you plan to do some real engine mods then you will benefit
Oh By the way Welcome to Mustang Evolution!!!

Like I was saying O/R H pipes on stock engines sound crappy but a modded engine sound good with a O/R H pipe. If you wanting a good engine growl from your exhaust and not a loud obnoxious raspy noise you will get from a O/R H pipe, skip H pipe and mils all together and get some more useful mods. Then if you ever decide to go and do some engine mods you can get a H pipe. You will get more HP out of a CAI and UDP than you will out of a H Pipe

they sound very very loud and very very nasty, I wouldnt do it. I would just get custom true dual exhaust with flowmasters or what ever and be done with it. Your will move your power up in the rpm's a tad with the flow being so free and the car may even feel slower to you.
MIL's dont work that great some times, I would get a chip since for your car they are pretty darn cheap, MIL's can be a fix for a bit until you can get a chip.

well the two back cats Im not sure if they are actually considered cats... someone will chime in and say but I have also heard them refered to as resonators... hmmmm
Ive rod in v6s with no cats, its a horrid sound, nearly as bad as a 4 banger honda with a fart muffler.

No they are all cats instead of one on each side doing all the chemical conversions they break it down into 2 steps
Both cats do something
The first converter is a reduction catalyst converter. Platinum and rhodium reduce NO emissions. The NO gas is a byproduct of the combustion reaction that provides the energy for the automobile. The reaction that occurs in this sector of the catalytic converter is as follows:
2NO => N 2 + O 2 or 2NO 2 => N 2 + 2O 2.
The second converter is an oxidation catalyst converter. Carbon monoxide is also a byproduct of a combustion reaction and is an unwanted pollutant in the environment. The oxidation catalyst reduces carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide as follows:
without both the process is not complete and illegal

If would still like to buy an O/R h-pipe from MAC, I sell them for $150+shipping which is about $22.

Hp between the 2 on a stock motor 0-2 HP difference. Yes High flow catts are legal in most states. The big difference is in the noise
