Lately my brakes don't seem to stop like normal. I seem to have excessive pedal travel especially during low speed stops. If I slam on the brakes at low speeds (before the abs treshhold) my wheels don't lock up. I have fairly new pads on the front and rear (<8,000 miles) and I tried bleeding the brakes and didn't get any air. Any ideas?

make sure you dont have a brake fluid leak, if its bad you will smell the fluid when you get stoped after it gets on those hot rotors.
Keep an eye on your fluid level and check the caliper banjo bolt (dont OVER tighten it of course) and where the line goes into the hard line with a LINE WRENCH. Same goes for back.

I checked the fluid. No problem there. After closer inspection my pad doesn't seem to be wearing uniformly. I'm busy at school but i'm going to investigate further on wednesday. Thanks for you help

Alright so I checked everything and the rotors were shot. I changed the pads and rotors and everything seemed better for a few days. Now I have the symptoms again. My pedal feel sucks. Do you think it could be the master cylinder? I've double and triple checked for leaks and there isn't any. I'm running out of ideas. Any help would be much appriciated.

is the brake booster still good? do a check for me. turn on the car and push the brake in once, take your foot off the brake and turn off the car 5 seconds after. once the car is off try pumping the pedal, it should still be soft just like when the car was on for the first 2-3 pumps.
