Who knows wireless networking?

Ok I am just about sick of this BS. I know alot of you guys on here are rather computer savvy so I thought I'd ask yall about it.

I am on DSL and have a wireless router. I think the router is not setup correctly but I am not too good with these things.

I can get a good connection on the main computer in my network but my xbox, bro's pc, and my dad's laptop all get really on and off service. I can be surfing just fine and my bro will come downstairs and say he can't get on. Why the hell can he not connect but we do prefectly fine. Other times his connection will be fine and nothing is wrong for weeks then all the sudden it goes out again....

If it matters I have a Linksys 2.4 ghz wireless-g setup as an internet gateway. That's basically all I know.

ANY help is appreciated.

Positioning of your base unit is critical. Sounds like its to close to a strong RF source possibly your monitor or some other electrical device. Id try relocating the base unit and see if it get s better. Also check the position of your antenas. They need to be straight up on all devices to get the best signal.

DSL surprisingly has harder times finding signals than cable in a lot of cases so positioning is much more important

Move it away from the monitor, and try adjusting the antennas some.
