we can argue back and forth all day about manual vs automatic. Stock for stock the manual wins EASY... but the auto can be beefed up to make up that half second slack... just costs you alot.
The manual is far more fun to drive, you have more control, its FAR cheaper to fix.. I just enjoy shifting..and you cant autox in an auto very well.

I dont buy the automatic cost more. Most autos in performance cars last over 3 clutch changes in a manual. People in modded stangs abuse their 5 speeds. I bought my PATC interceptor tranny complete for $1,300. People who do the tranny conversion will pay much more than that if they dont do it themselves

Brent, just a little heads up. If you are still trying to track down parts I am prob going to CJ's Pony Part's on Sept. 10 for a cruise. They apparently have a huge salvage yard in back and I want to drop by to pick some things up.
If you need some parts specify and I may be able to get them to you.

glad to hear that your changing over man, one thing to consider is that the input shaft for a T-5 on a v6 is alot longer than a regular v8 T5, and I wouldn't buy a T5 Z, then again I wouldn't buy a T-5 at all. i'm currently on my 4rth one and im only pushing 300 hp running 9.0's on street tires... shitty transmissons, im saving up for a tremec now.

Well,
YOUR trans can't handle it. So you either not hammer it or don't complain.
MY trans can handle it. In fact I am likely to grenade my rear axle long before the trans, But I do not have a T5 or anything made by Tremec.

T-5s are good trannys, sure they dont take a ton of abuse... but they are cheap, cheap to replace, etc etc... take care of them and you can get MASSIVE amounts of miles on one, my friends 300hp fox has 130k on his OEM stock never touched t-5.... not bad.
