Alright, so I headed off to KC tonight for some "racing" and a big fbody/stang get together. Turns out some turbo cars, rice, and just anything and everything show up. We were behind a church and there were literally 200 or so cars out there... it was insane. Well the guy that I bought my car from was there with his 2003 cobra that has a pulley, exhaust, and other little things that dyno'd 450ish to the wheels. He found out there was a procharged ls1 camaro that was coming and it eventually did. They set up a race and took off... I got to ride shotgun in the cobra and dear lord was it freakin sweet. This was the first time ive ridden in an 03 cobra or supercharged car for that matter and man I must say that the kenne bell will defanitely be going on my car now. He raced the fbody about 5 times... 1st two times he missed 3rd gear and 2nd gear respectively. The third race they started at 30, and went to about 110 with the cobra just barely ahead. 4th race they started at 40 and the cobra got a jump and never looked back. 5th race started at 20mph and couldnt get traction... but once it did he started slowly gaining back on the ls1 but shut down at 130mph before he could get his ground back. That was just the start... there were countless other races that went on between stangs, trans ams, gto's, wrx's, camaros, just anything and everything you can think of. Theres a video of the cobra vs ls1 that ill get the link of as soon as its up... but good lord what a fun night.

The fastest thing I've ever sat and experienced in was a new STi The owner of the dealership came out and let us sit in his car as he drove us around. He was doing these crazy turns at 40-50mph, I loved every second of it! I'd pay to sit in the Cobra you were in Zim

but all those cars? It's like that news report where all these street racers got together and started to race, then all of them got busted as the cops surrounded the area. I dunno, things like that I'd never go to. Hell, the people just watching get fined! Especially here, they catch you and your record goes straight to hell and you car to the crusher (which i have yet to actually see).

dude, hes in the midwest, theyre not as anal as cali is.
i remember back in the day we could do that, chill and race cars for hours, never would a cop even show. that was before the countless kiddies and their riced out civics started getting into it, then they just fucked it up for us. you cant have races in that spot, theres a cop there in 3 minutes.

The cops did come... but they just said "we dont care that youre hanging out... but the people at this church dont want you here right now. I dont care where else you go, you just cant be here." And that was the end of it. We just all filed out in a single file line and went to another parking lot... the cops didnt give a shit.

how is racing from a roll gay? theres no way in hell two 450rwhp cars are gonna hook up on the street on street tires to even attempt at having a somewhat close race. At the track, its a lot stickier for a reason, on the street... with that much power its really not worth starting from a stop cause all you do is spin. Even in my car I spin like crazy if i get too into the throttle in first and second gear.

it doesnt prove who is faster from point a to point b, just who has better topend... I could careless how fast you can go, I want to know who is going to get their 1st. Because 9 times out of 10, when your racing from a roll...theres no set place your racing to so as soon as the person gets infront of you or if you pull away, you "won". Tell them to go get some better tires and stop making excuses for them.
Race from a stop, will prove who the better driver is and who can control their car better then. Unless racing like hondas is your thing, so be it. Just about every rwd car will spin to if you get into the throttle...hell my truck with its massive 150-160hp can break loose some if I just punch it or try and launch at like 1500-2000rpms and thats with a open rear, 4wd, 31x10.5" tires and 3:73s.

I disagree with that logic, if a car is gonna pull ahead by 3rd or 4th gear... its obvious what would be potentially faster in a 1/4 mile. Im not saying racing from a stop isnt any good... but you have to realize this was "street racing" and on the roads that this was performed (highways that were pretty empty thanks to blocker cars behind us) you cant really just stop and start.
