Looking at mac short tube headers i was asked if my vehicle was with or without air injection. i have an 02 v6. could someone please fill me in on this. th anks

my 99 has air injection. the header will have an extra port or hole whatever you wanna call it that hooks up. I would assume yours does too but i dont want to be wrong so hopefully someone else will comment

Air injection? Never heard of that one. I know you have an egr tube that connects to your passenger manifold....but that's all I've ever seen.

I think air injection is a term that either chevy or dodge uses to describe the EGR.

Pretty sure you have "air injection".

my 01 V6 did not have air injection, all you will have is one port on the pass. side header for the EGR... I did my JBA headers in the driveway on the 6, I don't even want to try doing the GT

easy way to check is to crawl underneath the front passanger side fender and look up underneath. Where your CAI filter should be/go if there is a big black pump mounted there with a hose coming out of it and going into the engine bay, you have an A.I.R pump.

Air injection has nothing to do with EGR, nor is it just a Chevy or Dodge thing.

What it is is an emissions device. It added air into the exhaust stream to help the cats burn the hydrocarbons passed out the engine. It's been around since at least the late 60's so it's not like it's something new.
