1st thing you do is disconnect your battery. You take off the passenger side kick panel. It is held in with a plastic christmas tree type thing, take a flat head screwdriver and it will pop right off. Take the kick panel off, behind there you will see 3 sets of wires if I remember correctly. Behind those wires is the computer itself. I believe there are 2 or 4 screws holding it in and it pops right out. You take the cover off, and you will see the connectors, clean the connectors using a brillo pad until you get down to bare metal. Pop the chip on, and put it all back together. I did it in about 10 minutes in the parking lot of a radio shack lol.

Sounds pretty good, but I would not advise using a brillo pad, its made of steel fibers and is a connector, use a green scrubbing pad instead, the plastic kind you get to scrub pots and pans with.

I was told to use a brillo pad..just did it lightly. It did it fine, but I'll take your word for it man.

I recomend using a little green scrubby pad, then some rougher grade sandpaper (60-100). The pad takes off the potting type material, and then use the sandpaper to take the connector down to copper, it is silver to start with, you just want to see a little copper.
BUT, on a newer car like yours I would go with an SCT X-cal1 or X-cal2, they are much easier to install since they flash through the OBD2 port, and the dealer will never know that anything was done. The X1s can be had for $299.
Send me an email.

I think he already ordered it, But I agree going the X-cal route.
Much easier & more flexible.
That's why I am flashed now.
