Hi guys and gals! My name is Jim, and I'm a mustang-oholic. LOL Well, I finally found, what I think for me, is THE Mustang. Granted, it's not brand new, it's a 96 GT, Royal Blue. I JUST got it Wed, from a Naval Chief Petty Officer, down in Jacksonville.FL. Needless to say, he's taken very good care of it, now I'll continue to do the same.

Well, since it's already got a BBK cold air kit, and 75mm TB, those plans are out, but atleast it saved me the cash. lol I'm thinking I want a body kit and/or eibach lowering springs. But I'm not sure if it's feasible to do both. I DEFINATELY want a short throw shifter (any brand suggestions?). Whatever I do with the body, I'm gonna stay with that color. My wife and I both fell in love with that blue, when we saw the first pics of it. At some point, I'm thinking about some suspension upgrades, to get a lil better ride and handling. As much as I love mustangs, at this point I'm still "knowledge challenged" hahah
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

OH! And damned sure need some rims. I'm tryin to decide on a set of bullits, or chrome Cobra R's. or maybe just go to the rim shop, and see what stands out to me.

Personally I love the color too. I still want a Sonic Blue New Edge and an Azure Blue Mach. There's just something about Ford blue I guess
I'm a big fan of the bullit rims, any color. Definitely look into lowering the car. Some nre struts and shocks and springs will improve the car in so many ways.
As for the shifter you will hear a lot of us here like the MGW shifter. It's the best out there. I personally have the Pro5.0 and it's great and I love it but when I have some money I can cash I plan on switching to the MGW.

Yea, I think I'd rather go with lowering it before I get a body kit, if I even get one. But, I also think a mixed body kit would give it a little more of MY own touch. bah....I'll just decide when I get the cash..lol.
MGW? I'll have to check that out. I'd thought of going with a Steeda Tri-axe, but since I'm a noob, I'll listen to any and all opinions. I'm pretty sure I'll be going with all of the Steeda billit dress-ups. Just a piece or two at a time when I can.
First thing I want to do, is go with a white gauge cover. Any brands I should stay away from? Actually, I've got a two pod a-pillar gauge cluster sitting at work. Just gotta decide what gauges I want in it too. Thinking I'll go with oil and temp, until I can afford that cool digital set, that you can program for three readings each.

Again personally, I'm not a fan of body kits. I think the Mustang's contours are enough on their own to stand out.
There are other shifters out there. Steeda and Hurst for instance, both have great reviews but I guess MGW is still low key. You can't really get it at stores usually directly from the manufacturer and the price is right on par with either Steeda or Pro5.0. Also if you want something comparative to Steeda's dress up kits I also recommend MGW. I only say this because there's something I don't like about Steeda. They make great products and all but I'm just not personally a fan and will recommend other products.
You can check out MGW's products (which isn't a whole lot) on their website:

Welcome to the site
I agree with the above comments about body kits, a lowered mustang with wider rear tires looks mean!
And I love blue! I miss my true blue '02 GT
GOOD LUCK with the car! looking good

That GT looks good for its age. I also agree with the above replies. Rims and some suspension upgrades are great mods to do. That blue is nice...I've always like the factory blue colors on mustangs.
