Driver error?

1.96 60' 13.744 1/4 @ 101.14. Is the best I've run, does this seem right or should I run faster times? Would upper and lower control arms help my times much? 256 rwhp 02 GT 5 spd.

Where are you shifting your car at? What is your powerband? 60' looks good if you're on stock tires..

I found with my car that shifting at 5500 RPMs rather than closer to redline netted me better speeds than winding it out, if you've had the car dyno'd.. try shifting 200-300 RPM past your peak HP, it should land you right back in your torque powerband..

For what its worth, off the shelf tune and shorty headers my 02 GT on stock tires ran 14.036@99.98, but shifting at higher RPMs I would see 14.3-14.4s

I would say your car ought to have some more in it, especially seeing the HP at the wheels - that's basically stock crank HP.. Just play around with different shift points..

What tires are you on? If you can get those 60' times down to 1.6-1.7 you'll be alot closer to a low 13.

That MPH is about right for a bolt-on GT. The gears are going to hurt your overall mph but should help you out on the short times

Peak hp is @ 5200 I try to shift @ 5400-5500. I have 315/35/17 Nitto 555R's. I figured I should post faster times. I definitely want to get some MT's or BFG's don't like the Nitto's, it seems no matter how long I heat em I still spin off the line... Thanks

Nittos can grip pretty decently, Try launching with a bit of clutch slip rather than dumping it all at once..

How I launched the fox -> rev to about 3k RPMs, light changed, lifted off clutch enough to get car moving forward, as soon as weight shifted, lifted completely off clutch and rolled into the gas pedal (usually WOT by the time you pass the tree)

I got 1.8ish 60's out of the nittos and I'd seen 1.7s on the BFGs
