ford is sketchy...funny year to year changes

ok these are some things i thought were funny about ford and their v6's.

some of this might be good for the 'interesting info' section of the mustang history..all of this regards SN95 and 'New Edge' mustangs (94+)

- they used a 27mm front swaybar for '94-'99
- they used a 25.4mm front swaybar in '00-'01
- '94 was the only year they used a rear sway bar...measuring 21mm
- in convertibles you can use the radio w/o having the key in the ignition
- it took ford 2 years in the redesign of the 'new edge' to fix a head gasket leak they found
- they upped the HP for the new edge design w/o upping the torque
- the '99+ convertible recieved subframe connectors (for chassis strengthening cuz of lack of hardtop) but they figured the coupes couldn't use them

in 04 ford decided to do some insignificant (b/c it doesnt do anything with power) changes to the motor and called it a 3.9 instead of a 3.8

94 was not the only year they used a rear sway bar, my 96 comes stock with one

94 is the only year that is was *regularly* used, every 94 ive seen had one, but not every othe years had them, some cars got em, some cars didnt

I'm waiting for it to go to decent :p

or I'll just get a V8.. but with these fucking gas prices I might have to stay a 6'er for awhile.

lol damn how could i leave out the infamous "3.9 upgrade". they shoulda been awesome and made a 210hp 4.0L back in '99 w/ the new edge and made the '05 like 230hp or something

also forgot to mention the brakes were upgraded from 1-piston caliper in '94 to 2-piston calipers in '99. w00t.

My 96 has a rear sway bar, in fact every 96 I've seen has it. Mine's the only one I've looked.

What's a 2 piston ROTOR?

The coupes are better off without them...and they should have left them off the verts.

I can take the keys out of my 94 after i start it, and itll run fine..

Rear sway bars on all 94-96 some 97's have them no 98's and up had them. 97 was also the last year they pre-drilled the Strut tower for a STB in a V6. 98 was the last year for the shorty style stock header in 99 they went to the manifold style. Actually the 3.8 motor head gasket probelm was around before the 94 mustang. The temp fix was in 96 with a permanent fix in 97-98. The problem was in every car or van with the 3.8 it took years for Ford to own up to the problem

the convertables got subframe connectors made out of box steel that resembles basic sheet metal
