A few more noob questions.......

I've got a few more questions about a few easy bolt-ons, etc.........

BBK mass air meter......are the "maybe" 15 hp worth the $250?

I've already got a BBK CAI and 75mm TB, would another 12-15 hp be worth the $250 for the BBK 78mm throttle intake?

On to ignition now.....hahah
I'm not even sure what plugs are in it now (I'll check in the morning), but what would be a good plug to go with? I've heard the NGK Iridium IX are good (and working part time at O'reilly.....I get em at store cost...hehehe). Coil pack.....MSD, Accel, or any other suggestions? Plug wires? If I'm correct, all of this should give me better throttle response, cleaner burn, and maybe a lil better MPG?
Keep in mind, this is my daily driver, and will only see the track IF I can sneak it by the wife one weekend.......but I still want to get as much out of this car as possible, but keep it driveable.

The only thing I can say for certain is most people here will say go with either Motorcraft or Autolite spark plugs as they are manufacturer recommended and do the job just perfect.

Unless you will be pushing air (supercharger, turbocharger) the larger airflows really won't do much. If you open up your intake manifold to allow more air to flow through that then the larger intake will be beneficial. Basically the intake manifold constricts the airflow after a certain point, so even though you are incerasing the initial airflow the manifold will still only allow a certain amount of airflow to go through.

Instead of larger intakes right now maybe you could think about going with a port and polish. It might be hard to bring the car to a shop if it's your daily driver but good to look into non-the-less. What happens is the cylinder heads will come off (and I think you can do it with the stock manifold) and a mechanic (who's well experienced in the field) will really just sand out very lightly the intake/exhaust and then polish the metal to create both an increase in the airflow as well as smoother airflow. If you can't go with P&P the manifold they do offer aftermarket ones which you can always pick up.

After all this you will probably see real gains in wider throttle bodies and such. And bigger gains if you go Forced Induction especially.

I can't really say too much about the BBK MAF as I am not experienced on the subject, neither am I on ignition ("what's good to go with, do?").

If I owned a 96 GT this is what I would do (no real order)

Exhaust (just catback or with no cats however you like)
Shifter
Lower it (with all needed stuff to do this)
99+ PI head swap, CAI, under drive pulleys, Tune
3.73 rear end gears
Wheels/Tires

I'm 1/2 way there...... I have the CAI, pipes, and tuner. Just need the lowering springs, underdrive pulleys, and shifter definately. I'll eventually get rims and tires....I'm keeping an eye out on a nice set of rims (probably chrome cobra r's, or a some good looking bullits),just whatever I can find when I've got the cash. The heads....well....that'll probably have to wait until I HAVE to go into the engine for some reason. And for the gears, I've thought about them, but I think I'll wait until I get some of the other things that I REALLY want done.
