somebody else painting the side view mirrors on their 05 made me think i want to get mine done since i scuffed my front fascia and am going to get it touched up soon. Since, unlike the 03 04 cobras, my headlights aren't swivel there is no clear borders to follow with paint and painting that whole panel would look like ass i think. anyone know anyone that has had them painted maybe have a pic or a suggestion.

the cobra mirrors look 10x better than the oem, even painted. You will definatly be happy you got the 03s, you can alwasy sell the oems for 100 bucks.
try to find a used supplyer... mine were 150 for both, new they are like 300.

Not too bad but I would still follow their advice and get some 03-04 cobras.

the reason I would go with the 03 cobra and anniv mirrors over the oem painted is the black part makes it look smoother, being all one color is ok... but having the black to break it up works far better.
and the black part is flat black... not that plastic crap.

I've painted/painting my side mirror for the 05'.
It's a labor of love. Painting sections sounds kind of hard. From my experience with the side mirrors, I would not paint anything that you can't take off the car and paint entirely. The only trouble I've had is getting the clear coat on smooth. The clear coat that goes with the factory base doesn't have a recommended reducer to go with it. It came out rough surfaced on my first attempt, sanding it smooth didn't work with 600 grit, ended up sanding it off and starting all over. I haven't come up with a good solution yet.
