Hey everyone, i have wanted to get new tires and stuff on my 2002 v6 Mustang. I don't know what size i should get on her, and if i should lower it or not. Some of the roads i drive on are pretty bumpy and stuff, so maybe that might be a big problem with what kind of tires i get. I just want some tires to make my car look aggressive and bad ass!

go with the stock size in a cheap tire if you cant afford to upgrade in rims as those stock rims look bleh lol.
New rims and new tires will run you about 1000 bucks~ so dont spend 600 on tires for your 16s when for a little more you can change the rims out.
Be on the look out for take off rims/tires from someone locally (go to shows ask people if they have their stock rims and willing to sell etc) you can find good deals on ford rims.
For example... I picked up a set of 17x9 AFS brand 03 cobra rims (look the same made by afs) they were chrome had tires on them. After I sold the tires that were on there (tires were to narrow) I ended up having like 180 bucks in the rims.

Disclaimer: I do not work for any online or storefront parts supplier!!!
Go to Mustang Wheels Rims and Parts at CruizinConcepts.Com and check out their selection of wheels and tires. They have a very good selection of wheels, and they also sell wheel/tire packages that include mounting & balancing and the caps & lugs. I bought my Godspeeds and Nittos from them. You can bargain a little with them on things like shipping and military discounts, if that applies.

I got a wheel and tire package from American Muscle and couldn't be happier! Two rims had very minor nicks I assume from mounting the tires. I called them up and told them about my problem I had two new rims in a few days! American Muscle is a great place to do business with they stand behind what they sell!

If you can swing a bigger size rim go with either 17"s or 18"s. 18"s probably look the best, but tires can cost quite a bit more than a 17" rim. I have 17"s, and I'm happy with them...a little more tire sidewall than I wanted, but I got used to it.
If you want that staggered, "deep dish" look, I'd go with wider rims in the rear. 17x10.5"s or 18x10"s will eliminate that "tucked under" look the stock rims give off. This way, you won't need wheel spacers. 17x8's in the front will sit just inside of the fender, 17x9's will sit flush with the fender.
American Muscle carries a ton of rims and offers good wheel/tire packages. I agree with 67mustang97 when he says AM is a great company and that they stand behind what they sell, not to mention they mount/balance your wheels/tires and ship them for free!

Saw a magazine yesterday that had a picture of a new Camaro with 26's on the cover. Blasphemy!!!! Is nothing sacred anymore?

I was always told go no bigger than 1" over your stock size tire.

AM also now offers a nitrogen fill, if that is something you are considering.
I was at there car show and their grounds, building and employees are just amazing. You don't hear this a lot but they really are a first rate company to deal with.
