you should just go to www.vmptuning.com and get some. you can get some 42# injectors for about $275 with the right connector.

Well I looked there, but I can get these injectors for $160 bucks! So do I need adapters or can I get them to fit right on? Even if I do need injector adapters it would still be cheaper this way...

No you dont need adapters. 99+ V6 mustangs use pencil type injectors and are interchangable. If you had a pre 99 you would need adapters

Good buy, not to be a cocky bastard but the ones at vmp are 42lbs. I still think you got a good buy though.

Ford rates them for 39#, but they have been proven to actually flow like 42#'ers. I've done quite a bit of research since this thread.

All I know is what dynotuners have seen and what happens when they flow match injectors for which ones flow the absolute closest to keep one from running excessively leaner than the rest.
Maybe Ford rates there's differently from most. What Ford comes with "42# injectors" anyway? Is there one? Maybe the massive v10 trucks, but they probably have bigger ones. So where do they get "42#" ones? I believe all the 42# injectors you see are offered by companies not affiliated with Ford even though they are offered for Ford vehicles (like VMP). I'm sure they prefer saying 42# as opposed to Ford's idea of supposed 39#...

There are EV-1 injectors and EV-6 injectors. Those 39 pounders won't work on your car without the adaptor harness. Youre better off getting some 36#'s or some 42#'s. You may have gotten the 39's for cheap, but, now you need the $150.00 adaptor kit to make them work on a pre-03/04 engine.

My God where did this come from?
That's the second time this thread has come up from the dead.
BTW, these injectors have been working just fine in the motor for a couple months now with no harnesses. Dates own you and I have a `04 with pencil injectors so it was a direct "plug and play".
And for the last time, Ford 39# flow like 42#.

I don't remember for sure, but they'll go a lot further with 8 like you have than with only 6 like what I have.

The 99-04 GTs still use a fat injector with a rectangular connector (not oval like the V6).

Maybe 39lb is only at 39psi and every other ford injector is rated at 42.5psi (3bar, the standard).

You got it wrong too. Old style 36s or 42s would require adapters.
