my brother in law just ordered a fully loaded stage 3, there is a bastard of a wait for them, he's looking at several months before he gets it. i guess its a matter of personal opinion, but i think the roush looks like a mexican modded car. i have the brouchure for it and its ugly. the 281sc and extreme look sweet, especially the extreme. i think the shelby cobra looks sweet as hell, i'd go that route
if money isnt an issue the s-281E is amazing and its got 500 hp, 480 tq.

I would say the 07 Cobra. It will probably run you about $10k less than the Saleen SC (Estimated $40k price for Cobra vs $47,994 for the base SC saleen coupe). Since you are only thinking the SC, there really is no difference except that the 07 Cobra will be a bit more mod friendly not to mention the Cobra will have 75ish more HP stock.
If it has to be a Saleen or a Roush, definitely go Saleen. The Roush's look like Banther fodder.

Don't forget this important point, the Saleens, whether supercharged or no, start with a basic GT engine, 2V or 3V whatever the case may be, yes, the Cobra is a smarter buy.

Roush/Saleen, well Roush has a lot of spread between the top end and the bottom. I think they are more varied than the Saleen, Saleen is just plain better looking, depends what you want really, I would love to hav either, as long as the Roush were not the Stage I with a V6, LOLOL

Be patient, gas prices may push Mustang prices down. Do your research, make your own decision. They are all damn good American sports cars. I'd go with the Cobra.
I'd be happy just to get my Stang running. There is nothing more sad than seeing one covered/garaged.
Any connections for an engine would be appreciated!

Call me naive, but why would you get a Cobra over a Saleen or Roush, and why is the 4.6L engine better than the GT's 5.0? Oh yeah... whats the big difference between the Shelby and the Saleen Extreme? I thought Shelby was the best, but the S281-E is putting out more HP?

*deep breath*
What GT are you refering to that has the 5.0? The new GTs still have the 4.6L engine.
The reason I would get a cobra over a saleen or a roush is really the best bang for the buck theory. With both saleen and roush, you are just paying for the name.
The cobra (Shelby if they decide to keep that name on there) is going to come out with 500 hp (I know, they are calling it 475, but we all know it will be underrated like the 03/04s were). The Saleen and Roush's don't get close to that mark until you get their top line model which is the Extreme for Saleen and the Stage 3 I believe for Roush. Now, for both those cars you are looking at $60k+. Where as the new cobra is rumored to be $40k. So, you have saved $20k, and have more horsepower and have the freedom of modification.
The saleens and roushs do tweak the engines some, but they are still the same engines that come with the stock mustang GT, 4.6L. Most of the changes to those models are body kits and suspension. Where as the Cobra is going to be a 5.4L with a supercharger. This is the same setup as the 03/04 cobras only more displacement. We all know how well the 03/04 models responded to simple mods. $1500 and you went from 390 at the crank to 500+ at the wheels. 600 and 700 are not that hard to hit either. So, here you have a bigger displacement engine coming stock with 500ish horsepower. You take that same $1500 you put into the 03/04s, I am willing to bet you will see a lot of them breaking the 600 at the wheels barrier...with plenty of room to grow.
In summary, all of the aftermarket mustangs out there (Roush, Saleen, Steeda, etc), all you are really paying for is the name. You can buy a GT, get the Saleen/Roush/Steeda parts you want, and create a clone for less money than it would cost if you bought it straight from them. This is also true of you buy the Cobra. Just buy the body kits, suspension pieces, decals, and slap them on. Now, you have a highly mod-able super beast that looks like the mediocre aftermarket car.
