Looking for feedback-those who have purchased the painted-to-match scoops, vent window pieces, spoilers, mirror housing covers.. ?? How reliable is the do-it-yourself install? And is it true that the only thing "bonding" these items to your car, is double sided 3M adhesive tape? I'm skeptical of these items coming off the car in a hurry, after I've spent my hard earned cash. elp me with your experience(s).

I bought a pre- painted GT500 spoiler from the spoiler store, but it uses bolts.

I had a set of the Lund scoops on the hood of my F-150. Yea yea....I know...how cheesey.......but the body shop guy didn't want to mess with trying to fit-up an aftermarket hood, since I needed a new hood, he gave me one that he had sitting around, and told me to go get the stick ons, he'd paint it all when he fixed the rest of the front end (took out two deer one night...lol). I hapeen to think it looked pretty good. ALOT better than the typical f-150 hood, and damned intimidating looking when I had to ride some idiots bumper.
I NEVER had a prob with them comming off, in 3-4 years.

I have also wondered about these. I would like to put the side scoops on my car eventually but am afraid of the fit and how secure they are.
Thanks for the post jim.

Like I said....they stayed right where they were for the rest fo the time I had the truck, with no probs at all. I also plan on getting the side scoops on my GT. WAS gonna get the 1/4 window scoops or louvers.....until I saw how much of a HUGE blind spot I'd have...lol

3M double sided tape is a beast. If you clean the area thoroughly with rubbing alcohol the tape will stick until the end of time. Most of the trim on cars is held on with this stuff from the factory and i've rubbed holes in my thumb trying to get this glue off of cars. Don't worry about the quality of the attachment, so long as you take care during the install.
There are some tricks to installing these pieces that you'll need to know so you get it on right the first time, and don't have to unstick it and move it around (thus degrading the bond). So post up if you decide to get them.

Great responses! Thanks to everyone for the feedback. ThaWill: `knowing that the adhesive "is a beast"-when properly applied-is definately encouraging!

I can second that... helicopter engineer across the street told me that's how its done from the factory, and he helped me install my mirror caps and honeycomb back panel. I take it through car washes all the time, not even worried, the stuff is on for good.

Thanks! I almost forgot to mention that the front fog light bezels are stick on also. Just be sure to thoroughly clean the surface with alcohol before you apply the part and you'll be fine.

Instead of getting the stick-on 1/4 window louvers...I'd get these:
They are replacements for the glass in the 1/4 window and still allow you to see with very limited blind spots. If I had a S197 I'd have these hands-down.
