This guy I know told me that he's got a 289 a 302 and a 351 Windsor that's has been bored I think 20 over. He said I could have any one of them for very cheap. I was just wondering how big of a pain it would be to swap in one of these engines.

much more than you would ever imagine lol. I would not do it in a new car~ to much hassle and when your done you have a car worth very little since you swaped everything out~ plus those engines will probably be carbed.

You could always pick them up anyway and find a Foxbody roller to put it into

Not meaning to sound like an ass.....but I would suggest that you fix your electrical probs, before you create more probs and buku expense of an engine swap + converting that engine to EFI.
Just my 2 cents.

Well my thinking was that I'd need a new computer to run an efi on those engines and in that process I could go ahead and replace all the wiring and fix those problems while I already had the car apart. I just hate to let those motors slip past me for what the guy is asking but I probably won't do an engine swap until my warranty is completely up

Then don't let em slip by. Like you said, just find you a roller for one....or all 3 of em...lol. Myself, if I run across a PI engine, when I've got the cash in pocket.....I'll get it, and just stick it in the shed til I can have it "built"...lol

None of those engines have the power that your 4.6 does, and they are not set up for computer monitoring (cam sensors, crank position sensors, electronic throttle, etc). Converting one to EFI will not enable it to run and interface with the PCM, or a new PCM, in your car unless you install all of the new sensoring devices, emissions control devices, enable it to "talk" to your electronically controlled transmission (if you have an automatic), etc. That's assuming all of the sensing devices can be installed in those old blocks. Those old legacy engines are best suited for old pre-computer controlled vehicles. Your decision of course, but I'd talk to some folks who know and find out exactly what a mammoth project you'd be looking at, and even if it's doable.

Well I don't have the 4.6 I have the 4.0 but I guess I could put it into my 95 v6 5 spd and just not worry about efi

Didn't know you had a V-6. Wasn't dumping on ya, man. Just letting you know that you're looking at a ton of work to do a conversion like that.

In MY opinion....if you are deadset on having a v-8, just find a 4.6, or even better.....a wrecked GT for parts......swap to the 4.6,swap to the gt rearend (8.8"), maybe even the ecm? A good parts car would probably work wonders.....then when you are done.....sell of the shit that's left..lol
Or even easier......just buy a GT

Sounds like a GT parts car would be a winner for the swap then.
