Buying Non-Painted Parts

I'm thinking about getting a non-functional hood scoop for my V6 and I am wondering what you do about non-painted parts when you get them...do you take them to a body shop and have them paint it? How much does that usually cost?

Yes, most of the time the non-painted parts come primed and ready for paint. You could take it to a reputable, trustworthy paint shop and have them paint it the color of your choice. I'd imagine the shop charging anywhere from $75 to $150. This is a ballpark guess, so don't quote me on those numbers. It could be lower, all the parts I've had painted all required prime and paint.
