Hi all,
This is my first post. Thanks in advance for the help.
I'm looking for a CAI on ebay as most of you have suggested. Does the BOMZ 96 97 98 99-04 Ford Mustang GT V8 Cold Air Intake fit a V6 2004 mustang?
The current price on ebay is $42.95 +$18 shipping. That sounds about right?
Also I was considering getting a used catback exhaust from flowmaster with magnaflow muffler back tips for $120.
Thoughts and suggestions welcome.

1st off welcome to the site..all cold air intake systems are pretty much the same with small gains, the system you listed should work seeing as it says 04, the KN FIPK system has a dyno sheet on there site claiming 6.xxx hp from their system but they all do the same thing. Some will say though you get what you pay for. Also 120 for a flowmaster catback with magnaflow tips is a great deal , i take it it's a stainless steel system ?.hen you do the exhaust you want to keep your cats, v6 mustang without cats are known to get high pitch almost ricey at high rpms.

Thanks for the quick response! So you're saying the CAI kit for v8 mustangs will fit on v6 mustangs right? THe reason for me asking is because of one of the sellers I heard from a friend might not be the most reliable.

Thanks guys.
When I do go to pick up the exhaust system, is there anything I should check for? It's a used exhaust system so I want to make sure it will be ok. Oh and how much would labor cost to install the thing? I just want to make sure I don't get ripped off somewhere. Thanks.

is it a Y-Pipe kit or true duals ? when you get it installed dont take it to a chain place , try and find a mom n pops shop. if its true duals have them cutt your y pipe right behind your cats then weld in some pipes to make it extend far enough to the back of the car that way you dont have to buy an H or X pipe. But if you find the right shop you can get it done for as cheap as around 100 bucks

It's true duals and has a chrome tip. The guy doesn't have a picture unfortunately so I'll have to drive there and check it out. I'll post pics up when installing stuff.

Chrome tips will rust. SS tips are the way to go.

Well, it's a used exhaust system and I'm trying to get around with limited budget since I'm a college student so this one will have to do. BUt thanks for the advice tho, I'll look for a SS the new time around when I have the money.

My friend went to go pick it up but when he got there, he figured out the exhaust system was for 03-04 cobra mustangs. =( Looks like I have to find a bargain elsewhere. Do any of you know what a generic dual exhaust would sound like? My budget is $250 including install+tax so this is gonna be tough.

If you just want cat-back exhaust, I'd get some GT takeoffs. That's what I have.

like nick said get GT take offs they'll do you fine + you can always have the mufflers taken out and have whichever 1s you want welded in down the road

It would be a better deal for him to get what he plans on getting and then just getting new tips later.... two flowmaster mufflers are well over 100 dollars alone

i have some used dynomax mufflers but the price i'd charge you for them would probably equal the shipping cost. haha. My co worker is getting a used flowmaster 40 series for 50$. it's about 6 months old so it's pretty much broken in. Ask around at some of the little exhaust shops if they have something someone may have traded in.
