Do I need a custom tune???

I have a bbk cai & tb on my 06 v6, the check engine light came on & i pulled the codes. My local dealer told me I need a custom tune, I think it was my air/fuel mixture was off? Will a custome tune help me?

i think i heard you do on any 05+ you need to tune if you put an aftermarket cai. but i got an 04 so i wouldnt know but im almost 100% sure you do need that tune

All cars will benefit from a new tune when any mod is done. However most cars can also still benefit from the mods with out the tune.

It seems that for the S197 they do need a new tune for a CAI. I think there is a specific criteria for whether or not the car will need one, such as the car throwing codes.

05+ cars are much different when it comes to when they need a tune. I know GT's require a tune with a good CAI~ so I am betting you do as well.

Contact bamachips.com see if they do v6's, I know they do good tunes on the GT mustangs. (05+ mainly)

every car can use a good tune lol
you will need it after the CAI but regardless the custom tune will help alot.

Yah most CAI's for the 05+ like C&L and JLT require a tune. There are a few that don't such as BBK and K&N, but as said above, it never hurts. The 4.0's and new 4.6's see more gains from CAI's than the pre 05 models after a tune, so I'd do it.

Thanks for all the input guys, I dont remember off the top of my head what the codes were. Does anyone know where in Florida, 33463 I could get my stang tuned?
