I have a bbk cai & tb on my 06 v6, the check engine light came on & i pulled the codes. My local dealer told me I need a custom tune, I think it was my air/fuel mixture was off? Will a custome tune help me?

i think i heard you do on any 05+ you need to tune if you put an aftermarket cai. but i got an 04 so i wouldnt know but im almost 100% sure you do need that tune
All cars will benefit from a new tune when any mod is done. However most cars can also still benefit from the mods with out the tune.
It seems that for the S197 they do need a new tune for a CAI. I think there is a specific criteria for whether or not the car will need one, such as the car throwing codes.
Yah most CAI's for the 05+ like C&L and JLT require a tune. There are a few that don't such as BBK and K&N, but as said above, it never hurts. The 4.0's and new 4.6's see more gains from CAI's than the pre 05 models after a tune, so I'd do it.
