I just wanted to say hello to all the mustang owners out there. This is my first of many posts to come. I have a 2000 v6 and you can guess it is a rag top. I will post pictures of it in the near future. I and getting ready to do alot of work to it and I think it will have a very good outcome. I will be getting it dyno'ed next week stock, before the work. I hope to see good results. Thanks for reading this and please feel free to add any suggestions you might have.
Jim

Can anyone tell me how a true dual exhaust with flowmaster 40's sound. I found a shop here that said they could do it, cat back with 40's for $350.00. This is the first mod I want to do if it is worth it.
Thanks, Jim

Well Loflyn I plan on getting a dyno done next monday to see where my stock car is now, then I am getting a true dual with flow master 40's first. I am ordering a CAI from advance auto and a new performance chip. I order from them here because I am military and they save me 10% right of the bat. I am thinking of an ignition as well but not to sure witch one yet.

Hey Jim welcome to the forums! I would definately go with Flowmaster 40's, when I had my 98 V6 I cut off the Y-pipe and did true dual, with Flowmaster 40's, it was with cats, and it still sounded like a V8, sounded really good. But you have to make sure you get the Originals, dont get the Flowmaster 40 Deltaflows, Get the Flowmaster 40's Originals, they are a little louder, and have a bit more treble to them, what I did was just order the Mufflers and take it to my local exhaust shop and gave them the mufflers and told them I wanted these on, cut of the Y-pipe, they did all the piping and welding, I got them done as dumps, so it was only $220, then later on I got tips welded on and put in hangars, for only a $100, it was money well spent, for what it was, it sounded nice. Keep us informed!

don't bother with a stock dyno. you have 160ish hp to the ground stock. save your money for upgrades!

Thanks for that Dark. I actually thought that it had more than that in HP but I think I will take the advise. I havent even found a shop out here that can dyno anyway. I was just wanting a baseline to bounce the numbers off of with the mods.

delk performance in lebanon does good work. they can get you anything you need. be prepared to pay for labor though lol
and yes, your engine has 193hp. but that's just at the crank... as the power moves through the drivetrain to the rear wheels, parasitic drag takes a chunk out of it. thus, 160ish to the ground
that's the belief around here, having an engine with all the power in the world doesn't do you any good if the power doesn't make it to the ground, so if someone quotes you numbers, they're probably going by Rear Wheel Horse Power (rwhp) ...and it's the same deal with torque (rwtq)
again, welcome
