What kinds of additional wear and tear on my car should I expect from drag racing on the weekends?
Which parts are prone to break?
What would you estimate my anual costs at?
What additional non-mod equiment should I anticipate buying?

You really shouldn't worry about anything major...I dunno any querks on the 05 gt's as far as weak parts go...I'm sure there's some there though.

don't miss/grind any gears.. that's basically all I can say
Only thing you might accelerate failure of is the clutch due to the extra slippage at launch.. nothing else should be affected too much..

if you abuse the car stuff will break... part of it. The tranny and rear end will probably be on the list of items that go frist, other that the motor if you abuse it to much. Its just part of it. If you are going to do the deed be prepared to pay the price to fix it. If ford finds out you were drag racing it at the track your warranty will be voided.

Basically don't bring it in for a clutch and rear with rubber built up in the wheel wells..
Yeah trans can go.. but IMO taking my cars to the track isn't much different from how I'd drive hard on the street (aside from going well above posted speed limits.. which I almost never do on the street..) Pretty much launch is the only thing I'd do differently.. and IMO launching 2k-2500 RPMs and slipping the clutch isn't any harder on the trans/rear than flooring it on the street..

What specific parts do you mean by rear end?
Are there any stock parts that you would recommend replacing with aftermarket parts, just for the sake of handling the extra stress due to racing?

not really i doubt you will break the rear unless you have slicks on there and are cutting extremly low 60ft times such as 1.6s
a set of LCAs may really help you launch but im not sure on the 05s, i know on pre 99s they were alot of help, but they have a bad 4 link design... not sure if the 05s are better or not, im sure they are though.
