I recently bought my first Mustang ('09 GT) / new car / manual trans all in one - so there's a lotta stuff I'm seeing/hearing that I think might not be quite right but at the same time I don't really have anything to compare with (since this is pretty much my first everything car).
I've been looking through all of the TSB's I can find but I have yet to find one applying to the '09 GTs - do you guys know if there's any reason for this? So far I've only seen TSB's for the '05s and '06s but none for the '09s. I'm finding it hard to believe that ALL of the bugs could have been worked out of the S197's before the '09s came out and without any new issues popping up along the way on later models - or is Ford engineering really just that good
If any '09 TSB's are indeed out there somewhere could anyone point me in the right direction?

I can't think of any TSB for the '09 Mustang GT off the top of my head and yes Ford's quality has really shot up and is now probably the best in the business.

the design is pretty good to go, I mean the engine has been around sine 96 (modified din 05) and such~ no real issues. Dont believe everything they say about Ford, they are just as good as Toyota and the like.

Technical Service Bulletin-"TSB"-available to every Service Dept./Technicians- sourced through Ford's dealer service dept. in-house website-and I suppose these days-with the wide dissemination of information-via the internet-these can be sourced by regular folk, as well?

People get TSB and Recall confused. A recall is something that makes XXXX cars need to be called back in and fixed.
A TSB is an issue that may or may not happen to your given vehicle. If it does they will fix it (they know about it etc etc). This is different than a recall.

...indeed. It is the responsibility of your favorite tech. to check the computer for recalls/TSBs-on your model car-whenever they are working on it.. The TSB: would deal with a possible "known" problem(in some percentage of those vehicles-more for the awareness of the tech.-and subsequently for the consumer, to make sure this isn't a problem with your particular car)-whereas a true "recall" is a known safety concern, has "happened" often enough to those vehicles-and is publically acknowledged by the manufacturer-usually as a result of a bad batch of vendor parts (as many are outsourced/manufactured elsewhere, then added into production) and the manufacturer issues announcement(s) and correspondence(s)-telling the owners of said vehicles to go to their nearest dealer to have recall concern taken care of at no cost to the owner to alleviate safety concerns and minimize possible lawsuit(s) `Sorry for the redundancy..

hey guys - so I'm hoping I won't be breaking any forum etiquette by posting this but I found a pretty comprehensive list of Tech. Service Bulletins (TSBs) available for the S197s (2005-2009) in .pdf form on StangNet.com. Figure if it'd be worthwhile in case anyone was interested :

A recall is put into place when the car maker determines the cost/benefit. If they do nothing and just let wrecks hapen and pay lawsuits vs if they fix it... its about which is cheaper... and thus your safety is based on money

Thanks for the link-I copied a few of those down. In the event that I had to "use them" -I don't think that my technician would wonder where I found them. The TSBs are out there-you just have to know where to look..!
